PARLE-G...G maane Genius!

Parle-G or Parle Glucose is a brand of Parle Products, India. Parle Products was established in the Vile Parle suburb of Mumbai in 1929. Parle Products started manufacturing biscuits in 1939. The company launched an ad campaign in 1947 which was showcasing Gluco biscuits as an Indian alternative to the British biscuits.
Parle-G is one of the oldest brand names in India. As "G" stands for Glucose but later on the company launched a creative slogan as "G maane Genius" The product was instantly recognized by its iconic white and yellow wax paper wrapper. The wrapper features a little girl. Now it is available in plastic wrapper. When the company changed the wrapper from wax paper to plastic, they made an ad putting Parle-G in fish tank!
The low price is reason in Parle-G's popularity. As of 2011, it is the largest selling brand of biscuits in the world according to Nielsen. In 2013, Parle-G became India's first domestic FMCG brand to cross the INR 5,000 crore in retail sales. Parle-G's strong distribution network covered over 6 million retail stores in India
Since 1980s, Parle-G is emotionally connected with people and vice versa. Hence, it comes under value by heart and that's why people still love the product. Outside India, it is sold for 99 cents for a 418 gram pack and 80 gram "snack pack" is sold for as low as 15 cents at Indian grocers, and 40 cents at major retailers.
